Geno trophy spotted?

January 28, 2008

Brawl Central has found a sweet find with one of their latest videos. If you look at this video at 2:55 – 2:58 you’ll find what looks like a Geno trophy. While it can’t be certain, it’s an interesting find none-the-less

Now, what does this say about Geno’s chances of being a PC, if that is indeed him? At first I thought this hurt his chances, but then I thought about how it looks a lot like his original SMRPG model. There’s no way Nintendo would get the rights for Geno to appear only as a trophy in Brawl. Also, there is a WW Link trophy, so perhaps different versions of characters (i.e. 8-bit Mario, SNES Geno, ect) appear as obtainable trophies in SSE. So if it is fact Geno that just appeared in that video, the argument for hurting/helping his chances could go either way.

Brawl 3rd Demo at Whobby 08, and more expected in the near future!

January 13, 2008

Okay, I don’t know all the details, but there is a third Brawl demo out! Ya, a third one, with more new characters. In the E for All demo in Los Angeles, California we had Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Fox, Pikachu, Peach, Bowser, Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Ike, Diddy Kong, and Sonic the Hedgehog playable. At JumpFest in Japan, we had Mario, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Peach, Bowser, Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, Ike, and Diddy Kong playable. In other words-we gained Kirby and Wario were newly playable at JumpFest, but there was no Donkey Kong and Sonic the Hedgehog at the demo, due to lack of popularity in those regions, and Wario and Kirby being much more popular there, as well as having most of their “moves” revealed. However, at the Whobby 08 Demo in Japan (this is the first of three days), Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Peach, Bowser, Meta Knight, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, Ike, the Pokémon Trainer, Diddy Kong, and King Dedede were playable.

Strangley, for the first time Pit was not playable, and Sonic wasn’t playable again, either. The E for All and JumpFest demos had 15 playable characters. At Whobby 2008 (or at least, the first day), we have 17 playable characters, with Donkey Kong being readded from JumpFest, the Pokémon Trainer and King Dedede being playable for the public for the first time, and everyone but Sonic the Hedgehog and Pit from previous demos there. So, now the public has played 19 characters. The public has yet to “play” Solid Snake, Ice Climbers, Zelda, Shiek Lucas, and Pikmin and Captain Olimar. But we’ve seen and heard how Solid Snake, the Ice Climbers, Zelda, and Lucas play, so chances are we could see them soon (if there are diffrent characters in the demo).
